Pledge to Plant 5 Million Trees in the Maldives

On this World Environment Day, the President of the Maldives, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, is launching the 5 Million Tree Project, a key promise in the government’s manifesto. This initiative reflects governments commitment to safeguarding the Maldives’ vital ecosystems and combating the impacts of climate change for the benefit of current and future generations.

Our Commitment

We, the undersigned commit to collaborating with the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy. Our collective efforts aim to set a precedent for environmental stewardship and protection within our communities, inspiring future generations to participate in this important national initiative.

Pledge Details

We pledge to actively engage in the tree planting program and contribute to the planting of 5 million trees over the next five years in accordance with the Strategic Action Plan of the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy.

As part of our commitment, we will:

  2. Document and share details and photographs of tree planting activities with the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy.
