Meeting Held with Participants Departing for China for Training Under the 5 Million Tree Planting Project

A meeting was held today with the first batch of 10 participants travelling to China to undergo technical training for the management of 20 nurseries being developed under the national 5 Million Tree Planting Project. The meeting aimed to brief the participants and prepare them for the upcoming training programme.

The training programme, titled Nursery Management Programme, will be held in Fujian, China, from 27 October to 7 November. It aims to strengthen the management and operations of the 20 nurseries being established across the Maldives under the project and equip participants with the technical knowledge and skills required to manage them effectively.
As part of the project, the Government plans to establish nurseries across the country to support large-scale plant production. The training programme is designed to strengthen the technical capacity of nursery personnel by drawing on Fujian's experience and expertise in nursery management.

The 10 participants in this first batch are expected to play an important role in implementing the project. The training is expected to contribute to the advancement of tree-planting efforts across the Maldives and strengthen the management capacity of the country's nurseries.
