Deputy Minister Ahmed Nizam Leads Waste Management Team on Official Visit to Thiladhunmathi Islands

A team from the Waste Management and Pollution Control department, led by Deputy Minister Ahmed Nizam, has successfully concluded a two-day official visit to several islands in Thiladhunmathi.
During this visit, the team inspected the ongoing construction of Island Waste and Resource Management Centers (IWRMCs) in HA. Dhidhdhoo and HA. Muraidhoo. Additionally, the team conducted site assessments and project scoping required to further develop and upgrade the existing waste management center in HDh. Hanimaadhoo.

As part of the visit, Deputy Minister Nizam and the team met with the respective island councils. These discussions primarily focused on operationalizing the newly established waste management infrastructure as efficiently and systematically as possible.
Furthermore, the meetings highlighted the importance of strengthening waste management services on the islands and increasing full community participation to transform them into environmentally protected, green, and sustainable communities.
