Minister Ali Shareef Meets with UNICEF Representative Dr. Edward Addai to Discuss Climate Resilience for Youth

Minister Ali Shareef has met with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) Representative to the Maldives, Dr. Edward Addai.
The discussions focused on reviewing and aligning shared strategic priorities, specifically targeting climate resilience initiatives tailored for children and young people. Both sides deliberated on enhancing programs that shield the younger generation from the adverse effects of climate change, while empowering youth to become active leaders in environmental sustainability and national climate action.
Minister Ali Shareef noted that climate change is one of the greatest threats facing a country with a fragile environment like the Maldives and expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by UNICEF in this area. Dr. Edward Addai commended the Maldivian government's efforts to ensure a bright future for children and to protect the environment.
