Tree-Planting Activity Held in B. Eydhafushi Under National 5 Million Trees Programme

A special tree-planting activity was held today in B. Eydhafushi as part of the government's National 5 Million Trees Programme, an initiative included in President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's pledges.
This activity was held with the aim of protecting the environment, increasing the greenery of islands, and safeguarding islands from the impacts of climate change.
At the event, held today in Eydhafushi, Minister Ali Shareef participated personally and planted trees. In addition to the Minister, heads of the island's institutions, along with a large number of members of the public and youth, also took part in the activity.

This project, launched by the government to protect and sustain the environment of the Maldives, is an important programme set to be carried out on a wide scale across all parts of the Maldives. Among the trees planted in Eydhafushi today were various species suited to the island's local environment.
